DEVELOPMENT NEWS 40 • SHOPPING CENTER BUSINESS • December 2016 NEW YORK, NEW YORK TARGET TO OPEN FLEXIBLE-FORMAT STORE IN NEW YORK CITY Target is set to open a new 27,000-square- foot, flexible-format store at 500 East 14th St. in the East Village neighborhood of New York City. The store — set to open in 2018 — will be located within one of two seven-story mixed-use buildings currently being developed by Extell Development Co. Robert K. Futterman, Ariel Schuster, Brandon Eisenman and Ike Bibi of RKF represented Extell Development in the leasing transaction. Ripco Real Estate Corp.'s Richard Skulnik and Peter Ripka represented the tenant. WHEELING, ILLINOIS LYNMARK GROUP TO BREAK GROUND ON WHEELING TOWN CENTER IN METRO CHICAGO Lynmark Group is scheduled to break ground on Wheeling Town Center, a mixed-use development located 30 miles outside Chicago in Wheeling. The de- velopment will feature a 300-unit luxury apartment building and 100,000 square feet of retail, restaurants and entertain- ment venues. The apartment building will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bed- room units with a parking garage, court- yard, pool, bocce court, a fire pit, barbe- cue grills, a covered gazebo bar, putting green, pergola covered dining, lounge areas, and fitness and yoga rooms. The retail portion will be anchored by a 40,000-square-foot, 10-screen CMX the- ater, which is a high-end, dine-in movie theater. Callison/RTKL is serving as lead designer and William A. Randolph is serv- ing as general contractor for the project.
