64 • SHOPPING CENTER BUSINESS • MAY 2015 D E V E L O P M E N T N E W S RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA VICTORIA GARDENS TO BREAK GROUND ON STREETSCAPE REDEVELOPMENT Victoria Gardens will soon break ground on a full streetscape renovation encom- passing 1.19 acres of the center along Monet Avenue. The renovation will in- clude the refurbishment of exterior build- ing facades, the widening of sidewalk areas to accommodate new outdoor patio din- ing, the introduction of parklets, as well as a newly designed plaza area, which will include a street art program. In addition, the redevelopment will introduce new, modern landscaping, linear concrete pav- ers, updated lighting and new streetscape furniture. The project started in April and is estimated to be complete by November 2015. Victoria Gardens is a 1.5 million- square-foot, open-air, regional town cen- ter located at the intersection of Interstate 15 and Foothill Boulevard. The shopping center is anchored by Macyís, JCPenney, AMC Theatres 12, Bass Pro Shops Out- door World and the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, and features more than 170 shops and restaurants. In addition, the center features the Rancho Victoria Food Hall, as well as 40,000 square feet of Class A office space. SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO THE MALL OF SAN JUAN OPENS Taubman and New Century Develop- ment Inc., have opened The Mall of San Juan in San Juan with more than 60 per- cent of tenants first-to-market. The high- end center spans 650,000 square feet and features the only locations for Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue in the Caribbean region. Tenants currently open at the mall include Banana Republic, Bath & Body Works, Chicoís, Coach, Finish Line, Gap and more. The Mall of San Juan is located at the south end of the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge, five minutes from the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport. HENDERSONVILLE, TENNESSEE CAROLINA HOLDINGS INC. TO DEVELOP MERCHANT POINTE IN TENNESSEE Carolina Holdings Inc., in partnership with Branch Properties LLC, has begun construction for Merchant Pointe at Indi- an Lake, a new 140,000-square-foot retail center located in Hendersonville.
